Emerson's first public performance. I am sure you will agree with me that she is the best dancer of them all! We were so proud to see that she listens so well and follows directions. We also thought that she looked the cutest! The girl is a born dancer!

D-D-D-D-D-Dora
Last weekend, we were lucky enough to go see Dora the Explorer Live at the Majestic Theater. It was quite the production, complete with all the characters. Even Diego and Baby Jaguar were there!
Alex, and his parents Amy and James joined us and we all had a great time. The kids were dancing in the aisles. The only sad thing was that all us adults knew all the words and were singing along out loud.

Emerson waiting for the cue to wave her estrella.
After Dora, all of went down and met up with Amy's parents at The Spaghetti Warehouse for dinner. The food was really good and the Italian margaritas totally hit the spot. We had a great day with our friends and can't wait to do it again.

Sleepy Girl
The other day, Rico had to work early, so it was my job to get Emerson up and off to school. It was earlier than her normal wake-up time and I couldn't resist taking a photo of her before waking her up. I am amazed at how much she has grown and how long her legs are getting. She isn't a baby anymore, much as I hate to admit it. We still have her in her crib even though she is probably ready for a big girl bed--she doesn't try to get out the crib and will usually play with her toys for a while before waking us up to come and get her. We pretty sure we'll be getting up earlier if she's able to come to our room in the mornings!

The Greatest Show on Earth
Last weekend we went to the circus! It was held at the Alamodome and thank god, because it was HOT outside. The last time I went to the circus, it was held in a real tent and I was worried that this time would be the same. There was no way we would have been able to enjoy it without A/C. The pictures in this post are not in the order I'd like them to be. Blogger isn't cooperating :(
The rail cars that carry the circus from town to town. The Alamodome is conveniently located next to Sunset Station, so they were able to leave their rail cars right outside.
The tigers were neat to watch. Their markings are so beautiful. They almost seemed bored though. I guess they've done this before. The trainer was in the cage with them by himself and spoke to them in a mixture of English and I think German.

Emerson and her buddy, Alex walking hand in hand to the circus. Check out Alex's awesome shirt!
Alex and Emerson holding hands for safety on the way back to the car. Alex is such a sweet boy and a gentleman. He takes good care of Emerson when they are together.
These were some miniature horses that ran in circles. They were all white with blue feather plumes on their heads. The trainer would have them run in one direction for a little bit, then have them change direction for another little bit, then have two circles, each running opposite. It was kinda neat to see. They seemed to be about half the size of a regular horse.
Emerson and Alex had a great time. The action was fast and they were always changing the scenery, which was perfect for the kids. They never got a chance to be bored. The only thing we bought was a box of popcorn (and stale at that) for $7!! Alex and Amy were nice enough to share their sno-cone with Emerson and I had a few treats in my purse, so Emerson didn't know she was missing out on overpriced stuff.
Emerson in GlitterGills
Emerson loves to read books. The book she is reading was a special gift from her Great Aunt Neila and Cousin Brenda. The book is personalized with Emerson's name and features Emerson as a mermaid interacting with all her sea friends. And with all things water and Nemo in Emerson's world right now, it's the perfect book for her. The book is from Flatten Me.
It's a book that Emerson will keep forever!
Happy Fourth of July
