Celebrating Cultures

Every year, Emerson's school spends a week learning about different countries and the culture of that country. This year, Emerson's room learned about Cambodia. The week always ends with a Celebrating Cultures Parade. We thought Emerson looked so cute in her traditional Cambodian dress and hat. She was big girl and walked the route holding on to the ring and her teacher's hand.

The parade is like a mini-UN meeting or Olympic opening ceremonies with many countries and their cultures being represented. Some of the countries that were in the parade this year were Australia. The two kangaroo's with joeys carrying the banner were so cute.

And any representation of Australia would not be complete without a couple of Crocodile Hunters. And we thought the classroom that represented Holland did such a great job with their outfits. The whole class was even wearing wooden shoes.

Other countries that I can remember were Thailand, Mexico, Italy and India. The kids do such a good job with their outfits and are so cute to watch. You can tell that they are very proud of themselves, as they should be. We love watching the parade...it's worth standing in the sun to see it.
