Dee-Lishus

As in her legs. Look at how fat and sweet and beautiful those legs are. I nibble on them daily :)

Sweet, Sweet Sleep

OH YEAH! Last night, Emerson slept through the night for the very first time. I was amazed and could not believe she was STILL SLEEPING every time I checked her. Emerson slept from 8:30pm til 4:30am, up for a bottle and then back down til 7am. Without a single cry either. Emerson wakes up by moving around and kicking her legs. This noise is enough to wake me up and I got the bottle into her before she even had opened her eyes all the way. 3 ounces later she was back in bed. If Emerson took a pacifier, we could probably get her to sleep all the way through til 7am, but alas, Emerson only wants the real thing.

Hey, if anyone has plantar facitis or heel spurs (and you know if you do), get these slippers! They rock. Since we put the hardwood floors in, my heels have hurt worse than normal, so I am always looking for really cushy slippers. I got these at Sharper Image and now have very little heel pain. It's amazing, they seem to have the same kind of contour memory foam that our mattress has in it. My feet are in heaven. I got the black ones, but see that there are some really cool hot pink ones-ON SALE-for purchase. I didn't know about the pink ones before I got the black ones, but am still happy. If I could figure out a way to wear these slippers outside of the house I would!

Count Choc-ulitis

Actually, Gerber Rice Cereal-itis. The baby girl has started cereal! This is the 3rd time she has had it. The first few times she didn't know what to think of it, or how to eat it. An adventure in messiness. Today, however, Emerson was able to coordinate her self and ate the whole thing! It was only a tablespoon, but impressive nonetheless. The Dood captured the whole thing on tape and it's very cute. May post it in the blog, once I figure out how.

Everyone I know SWEARS that Emerson is going to start sleeping through the night now. OMG I hope they are right!

17 Weeks & 1 Day

Otherwise known as 4 months old!
Hard for me to believe that it has been 4 months already. It seems that she was just born the other day. But alas, she is growing and getting bigger.
4 Month Stats
12lbs 10 oz
23.5 inches
both are 25-50th percentile
Emerson continues to be a happy baby. She loves to smile and giggle and coo and kick her legs and laugh and vocalize. There is nothing quite like the sound of peals of baby laughter! Emerson is also expanding her circle of friends. Besides the ceiling fans and the pretty baby in the mirror, Emerson now calls Pierre, Mary Meyer, Glowie & Chloe, Baby Neptune, and Toke friend. They are soooo much fun to play with, especially when they make crinkly noise or vibrate or bounce.
Everyday with Emerson is a gift. She is so happy to see us when she wakes up that we can't help but smile and start off another wonderful day because Emerson is in it.

Sittin' around

In her Bumbo chair. As you can see, she is getting big and strong....look how she holds her head up! I think she looks lonely all by herself in the middle of the room, but it doesn't seem to bother her. She's watching TV! Isn't that what y'all did after school....come home and watch TV? Don't those legs look delicious!?!

Both of my nieces have slept on Rico this way and Rico has been waiting for the day that he could do this with his own daughter. Which was a while as Emerson HATES to sleep on her stomach. She has never liked it and fusses when she is on her tummy. She has got to be 2 kinds of tired to sleep this way. My handsome husband and my beautiful daughter...how blessed am I.

School Girl

Emerson goes to "baby school" a day or two a week. We are waiting til the end of RSV season before she starts full time and Grandma is more than happy to come over and take care of Emerson on the days she stays home. Anyway, last Thursday was a baby school day and here is Ms. Emerson getting ready to go. She is soooooooo cute. She makes my heart full.
