Family Resemblence

Tio Aurelio, Emerson and Daddy.

Going, going, gone

I guess someone likes watermelon :)

More fun in the rain

Rainwater from the downspouts in the backyard will also do.

Rainy Day Lover

We haven't had much rain in San Antonio the past year, so we could not resist going outside the other day during a rare summer shower. Emerson seems to be part duck. Her favorite place is in water. And as you can see, a gutter full of it will do just fine.

Engrish

Emerson started speech therapy last week. Her comprehension is normal to high, but she isn't using many words. Her words consist of Mama, Dada, Kitty, Uh-oh, Hi, Bye and Up. With the exception of these recognizable words, she talks and talks and talks. She talks constantly. She actually speaks very well....the problem is she isn't speaking English. Rico and I are learning the techniques to encourage the sounds to morph into words. I love hearing her voice..it's so sweet. She is also continuing PT with her wonderful physical therapist Christie. She is at the cusp of not needing PT anymore, but a few more sessions can't hurt and we aren't ready to let Christie go just yet. So we have welcomed Diana, ST to Team Emerson! It's a great team to be on :)

More transitions

Emerson is transitioning from the Young Toddler room to the Toddler room at school. I am not having as hard a time with it as the I did during the last transition, but Emerson is having a little harder time. Her stranger/separation anxiety is less acute than in the past, but she still has some and it's making the transition all that much harder. She usually takes a while to warm up and is then fine, so I am hoping this transition week will be what she needs to get used to the new room. A lot of her old friends are in the room, so I hope this also helps. I am not sure what happened, but it seems that someone replaced my baby with a toddler.

Piratess

Emerson riding the high seas of Helotes. Her mommy should have put a Swimmer on her!
